I only knew Donald for a short time through bridge and then from a love of music (though he was far more knowledgeable than me) He was a strong character, determined and positive to the end: a good teacher, always pushing the boundaries but patient and quite self- deprecating, though he loved to win! Most of all I loved his wry sense of humour. I’m sorry I didn’t have time to know him better but I’m grateful to have been able to enjoy his friendship.
